We appreciate everyone doing their share and following the rules while living in the share house. However, while living in the house, sometimes you might feel that there is something we could do better.
At Kizunaya Share House, the rules, facilities and equipment are all decided by the management. In general, all the rules are written in the Shared Space Usage Agreement, but to help you understand more clearly why some things are like they are, we have compiled a list of the most common feedback we receive. We would like to continue to strengthen our management system in order to support your daily life in the future, and we appreciate your cooperation.

The shared equipment in the house has been chosen based on the feedback we have received over the years. There may be times when you feel that some other type would be better or easier to use, but as this varies greatly on individual preference, we not may always be able to accommodate your requests immediately.
Once a year, we conduct a Yearly Equipment Check where we check all the shared equipment in the house and replace any worn-out items. During this check, your feedback helps us to reevaluate the equipment we use.
However, please do understand that even during this check, management cannot always accommodate all requests for new equipment.
All shared equipment is property of the management, and residents are forbidden from moving or removing it without permission.
Sometimes you may find that moving or removing the equipment would improve the usability of the house, but please remember that as stated in the Lease Contract and the Shared Space Usage Agreement, the management of all shared equipment and facilities is decided on by the management team.
In case there is unusable or broken equipment in the house, we will check it during the cleanliness visit / regular cleaning and remove it if necessary. We would appreciate it if you could let us know through the Repairs/Cleanliness Form.
Shared perishables are delivered to the house once a month, but as with shared equipment, individual preferences may vary greatly. Generally, the current monthly perishables have been selected based on past usage rates and feedback by residents.
For this reason, it may be difficult to change the order amounts or types of equipment immediately, but your feedback is received and will help us to manage our houses even more efficiently in the future.
First of all, thank you for your feedback.
At Kizunaya Share House, rules are decided by management, not based on a majority vote between residents.
The reason is that each person has their vastly different individual views and opinions on what makes life in the house comfortable. In a share house, mobility is quite large, and the members living in each house change almost monthly.
For this reason, we do not change the rules based on the opinions of the people currently living in the house, but instead ask everyone moving in to agree to a set of rules decided by Kizunaya Share House in advance. These rules have been shaped by not only feedback from past house members, but also the experiences of Kizunaya management members living in the houses over the years. We have chosen the rules that we find make life the most comfortable for everyone.
All of these rules can be found in the Lease Contract and the Shared Space Usage Agreement, which all residents have signed and agreed to upon moving in. Please review these agreements for more information.
Naturally, we are happy to receive feedback, as it helps us to make house management even better in the future. Should you need to contact us, please do so through the dedicated forms. However, as individual preferences and opinions vary greatly, we may not be able to adopt new rules immediately. Before contacting us, please make sure to review the contracts and agreements mentioned above.
First of all, thank you for wanting to make the house a better place to live.
In your daily life, you may notice that the house is running out of perishables or that a light bulb has gone out, to give a few examples. At times like this, all residents can contact us through the dedicated forms.
At times, you may feel like you’re the only person paying attention to the house like this and filling out the form. We would like to remind all residents to communicate with each other so that the responsibility of contacting management does not fall on just one person.
If you find that contacting management has become a burden on one resident, please discuss the situation with other house members. If discussion is not enough to resolve the situation, management will contact all residents to remind them of healthy communication habits between residents and that taking care of the house is everyone’s responsibility.
Leaving personal belongings in the common areas is forbidden in the contract.
We have received feedback saying it should be allowed to leave personal belongings in the common areas as long as all residents are okay with it. However, as mentioned above, new residents move in to the share house each month, and what is “okay” for some may not be “okay” for others.
For this reason, even if you have agreed with current residents to keep personal belongings in the common areas, new members moving in afterwards may not necessarily be comfortable with the arrangement.
(In the past, we have received the following feedback. Long-time house members had created their original rules for their house, but a new resident found them uncomfortable. However, as a new member, they were unable to tell this to the older residents who had lived there for much longer. These original rules created by the residents were “it’s OK to leave some personal belongings in the common areas” and “it’s OK to invite people to the house without telling management as long as other residents are aware of it.”)
Please remember that all residents have signed and agreed to the Shared Space Usage Agreement when moving in.
Existing rules and contract details will not be changed based on a majority vote between residents, as a sharehouse is a highly mobile environment, and new residents move in each month.
Leaving personal belongings in the common areas is prohibited.
Please remember that everyone in the house has agreed to these rules before moving in, and please use the common areas in accordance with these rules.
All rules and manners regarding the use of the share house are stated clearly in the Lease Contract and in the Shared Space Usage Agreement.
Thank you for always following the rules and manners during your stay at Kizunaya Share House. Should you have any questions, we will be happy to explain the items of the contract to you in more detail. Please also remember to check the Shared Space Usage Agreement, which you have signed upon moving in.
-Regarding communication manners when contacting management-
Most residents have no problems with the contact points or communication manners when contacting Kizunaya management, but there is a very small minority who fail to find the correct contact point and just give us their demands without any background information, use short LINE chat messages with language only appropriate for use between friends, or otherwise contact management one-sidedly in bad faith.
In many of these cases, the resident has failed to understand the contents of the lease contract.
As the share house is a place of shared living, we would also like all residents to pay attention to common manners and common sense when contacting us. Please make sure to find the correct contact point for your message, and please pay attention to the way you communicate with management.
Furthermore, please note that the lease contract is renewed monthly, and both the resident and the management company have the right to decide whether to renew the contract. Residents who wish to renew their monthly contract are asked to understand that renewal is possible as long as they agree to the rules of the lease contract (including the rules and manners) set by Kizunaya.
We will continue to do our best to ensure a comfortable shared life for all residents.
