In the video above, the representative of Kizunaya explains in one minute why rules are necessary in communal living. Please watch this video first.
*For house-specific rules, please check the guidebook for your house.
If you find that the cleaning rules are not being followed in the shared spaces, please communicate with each other.
When Reminding Others of House Rules:
Please refrain from using emotional expressions or blaming the other party.
Rather than criticizing the other person, please value communication that encourages everyone to follow the rules together.
When Someone Reminds You of House Rules:
If it is true that you have forgotten to follow the rules, it is important to apologize and convey your gratitude properly.
①The use of fire is strictly forbidden in all situations.
If you are found to have smoked in the room, we will charge a separate cleaning fee.
②Please turn off the lights and air conditioning when leaving the room.
③Please close the door softly.

It is possible to make a spare key, but when moving out, please return both keys to us.
All spaces in the dormitory outside your bed are common spaces. Using the empty beds or leaving your personal items in the common space, including the floor, is a breach of contract.

We’re all human, and we all forget to follow the rules every now and then.
In times like that, please foster a culture where you can feel free to remind each other of the house rules.
If you encounter a situation where the rules are not being followed, try saying, “The house has been a bit messy lately.” If you have just moved in and find it difficult to point it out right away, you can ask someone for help.
Talking about problems openly is something that comes naturally when you greet your housemates every day and communicate with them regularly. That is why it is important to communicate with your housemates on a daily basis.
Kizunaya Sharehouse is not a hotel – it is everyone’s home. For this reason, all tenants asked to clean up after themselves, but to help everyone maintain the cleanliness of the house, cleaning staff will come in once a week. However, the time allotted for cleaning is limited.
If everyone keeps the house clean on a daily basis, our staff can do extra cleaning, but if it is extremely dirty, we will only be able to clean the main areas within the allotted time.
Regular cleaning is only “an addition to daily cleaning.”
We ask for your understanding and cooperation in maintaining a clean environment.
Finally, once a month, our staff will conduct a cleanliness visit.
During the cleanliness visit, we will check whether the rules and manners for shared spaces are being followed, and if not, management will issue a reminder.
Any personal belongings left behind will also be removed at this time.
We will notify you via the Manners LINE, so please be sure to check it.
