A comfortable house in a comfortable area

Sharehouse sumika in Sumiyoshi, Tokyo is situated 10 minutes from Otemachi station and 27 minutes from Shibuya station by train.
The house was reborn as a Kizunaya sharehouse in August 2024.
The house has been partially renovated and the main living room expanded.

Renovated and opened September 2024!

The name “Sumiyoshi” means an area with lots of clear water, comfortable to live in.

The house was rebranded and named “sumika” after the area.

Mural by artist anna, who also lived at Kizunaya!

Colorful, quirky murals decorate the wall of the living room. The murals were designed by the artist anna, who used to live in our artist sharehouse “canvas”.

The living room is now brighter and more colorful than ever before.

Charming tricks decorate the wall

Can you spot the playful tricks on the wall? When anna was living at Kizunaya Sharehouse, she loved playing tricks on her housemates in the living room. This charming playfulness is what characterizes the house’s new interior. According to the artist, there are three characters hidden somewhere on the side wall!

When visiting the house for a viewing, see if you can spot all of them!

A second living room beyond the kitchen

A private room on the first floor has been turned into a living room.

It is a space where you can gather around the TV with friends or concentrate on your work or studies.

We wanted to create a comfortable area where people can freely spend their time while occupying the same space with their housemates.

Furnished private rooms

The first floor of sharehouse ”sumika” consists of the living room, the kitchen, a shower room, and a restroom.

The floors above are divided into private living quarters. Hang out with friends in the common space or enjoy your privacy in your own room – both can be achieved in this house.

The rooms are completely private and include a desk, a bed, storage space, and air conditioning – everything needed to start your life here comfortably.

    FAQ

    Q symbol

Can I move-in even though I cannot speak local language?

Since Kizuna House is a share house where residents interact actively with each other, we receive many comments from residents that they are able to study the language by interacting actively with their share mates. Many residents have just begun their studies or are visiting Japan for the first time.
In particular, share houses with the concept of international exchange tend to have many people who are interested in foreign languages and cultures and want to speak English in their daily lives. Rest assured, many have actually improved their language skills since moving in!
